Christ Apostolic Church<\/strong> (CAC) is the first Aladura<\/a> Pentecostal\nchurch present in Nigeria<\/a> and other countries. It arose in the first half\nof the 20th century, in the then-British empire<\/a>.\nIt was formally established in 1941 after a split from the Apostolic Church<\/a> which the original\nAladura organization (Faith Tabernacle) had invited to Nigeria. Its growth was\nled by Joseph Ayo Babalola<\/a>, a road construction driver\nwho became its founder. The revival led by Babalola resulted in thousands\nburning their traditional fetishes<\/a>. This disturbed the colonial authorities, and\nallegations included witch-hunting and opposition to hospitals and medicine.\nBabalola was arrested and jailed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\noperates secondary schools<\/a> in Nigeria. The\ncountries with presence of the Christ Apostolic Church include the United States of America<\/a>, Armenian Apostolic Church<\/a>, the United Kingdom<\/a>, Canada<\/a>,\nBelgium, Germany<\/a>, Italy<\/a>, the Netherlands<\/a>,\nthe Republic of Ireland<\/a>, Austria<\/a>, Australia<\/a>, South Africa<\/a>,\nthe Ivory Coast<\/a>, Togo<\/a> and Chad<\/a>. Its headquarter\nis in Ibadan<\/a>, Nigeria<\/a>. The\nChrist Apostolic Church shows pentecostal<\/a> features. The\nnumber of its members exceeds a million. In the 20th century, it had\ndistance to other Aladura churches. At least in 1999, a dissident faction\nof the name Christ Apostolic Church<\/em> existed. Christ\nApostolic Church has a major presence among the Yoruba<\/a> population. It\ndoes not have infant baptism<\/a>. It is in favour of monogamy<\/a>. Within\nthe Christ Apostolic Church, healing is attempted. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
